my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart
i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)
~E.E. Cummings
I have long loved that poem, despite it's fierce typographical independence. Because I suck at composing romantic poetry, or poetry of any kind, I sought out something that spoke to feelings I sometimes have difficulty articulating when it comes to how deeply I cherish my husband and the special, almost lifelong bond we share.
Today is the hubby's birthday, and once again I turn to the words of E.E. Cummings to share with you all, how deeply I love this man.
My hubby is my hero, for many reasons.
He is willing to wrestle monstrous creatures from the deep, even though I have no intention of eating them, and then cooking them, just so we can say we've done it...
He looks great in leather ...
I knew if we were ever blessed to be fortunate enough to have a child of our own together, that he'd be the perfect father.
And from the moment his daughter entered this world, he's been so much more than a perfect father. He is the best dad our little girl could have! She is definitely a daddy's girl, and I wouldn't have it any other way! Not only is he an awesome father, he's an amazing step-father - a task that is one of the hardest in the world.
Among all the things I hope and wish for our little girl, I hope she finds a man to love and one who loves her as much as you do us.
All My Love!
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! Happy birthday, G! :)))))

I love that poem too, and I bet your husband is honored you picked it for him.
This was a heartfelt and touching tribute, Auds. I hope I can craft something as wonderful for MY husband's b-day next week!

friends of mine were married on Saturday and that poem was part of their ceremony.
Wonderful poem and and wonderful testimony to the fact that, yeah, there ARE some goodguys out there. :)

That's incredibly romantic. I confess that if I ever read that poem I've forgotten it (highly likely) but it is now going to be copied and pasted somewhere I can read it often, because I love it.
Happy Birthday Husband of Auds.

That was great, Auds, and happy birthday to a man who will be puffing out his chest just a bit for a few days, I imagine!
