A Phineas and Ferb Moment Brought to You by Geronimo!

I guess I should explain a little. 

Well, I suppose I might as well go ahead and admit that yes, I am a 44 year old woman who loves Phineas and Ferb.   I blame Gaby for this.  And Disney.  But mostly Gaby.    Gaby loves Phineas and Ferb.  Gaby loves the Disney Channel which happens to be where Phineas and Ferb live.   But she mostly loves Phineas and Ferb.  

I happen love one of the characters on Phineas and Ferb; Isabella.    She's adorable.  A wee bit annoying, but adorably annoying.   There's one thing that's endeared her to my heart and soul more than anything else.  It's become sort of a "thing" on the show, her trademark question, "Whatcha doin'?"   

Here, I'll show you: 

 

 

So, earlier this evening me and Gareth were cuddled on the sofa watching some show on H2 (the History Channel's second channel) about the apocolypse, and questioning the logic of some silly scenario.  All the while Geronimo was sitting at our feet, just looking at us.   He wasn't just looking, he was, in particular, glaring at me, because I was in his coveted spot; the sofa cushion in the middle.   He's rather Sheldonish about that particular spot on the sofa (here, watch this and you'll understand what I mean by "Sheldonish."  Go ahead, I'll wait.) and he was giving me the "ears back, eyes half-shut" expression which clearly said, "Um would you mind moving your big furless butt off of MY SPOT.  That's my spot.  You're in my spot.  That is the perfect spot in the world and you're in it!  I sit there.  You do not sit there.  That's my spot!"

I kind of laughed at him and told him to sit where I normally sit, on the right hand side of the sofa.    I patted the cushion next to me and then I tickled him under the chin and pretty much forgot he was there.   

During a commercial break I noticed that he had jumped up onto the recliner which is adjacent to the sofa.    However, it wasn't the fact that he had gotten up there that made me notice him, it was how he was laying and looking at me.  Right at me.  

Geronimo was having a totally adorable and irresistible Isabella moment. 

Incidentally, when I got up to use the bathroom he wasted no time in reclaiming his coveted spot on the sofa.  

The Ultimate Birthday Photo Bomb

With the help of The Birthday Faerie, a certain little girl spoiled her mommy rotten for her birthday! 

However, in my excitement over finally getting a box of Shari's Berries and wanting to get a quick photo of it, I didn't even notice I had an interloper in the background until I started looking through the pictures on my phone. 

I give you the ultimate birthday photo bomb!  

I wanted to get a couple of quick phone-pics of the other two goodies that Gareth got me, because I only get this stuff once a year . . . by the time I got the apples onto the table Geronimo had waited long enough and absolutely had to see for himself what was in the box!  

There's no stopping him now.  He must investigate it all!  It is after all, his nature to know every single thing that's going on around here, especially if it looks like it's something he might either like to climb into and then curl up in, or possibly . . . eat! 

He definitely prefers the white chocolate dipped granny smith apple.    So do I.

Yes, occasionally we do put Geronimo on a leash and let him roam around outside for a little while.  Sometimes we take the leash off for a few minutes, but not very often.    While he's perfectly content to lounge around in the grass, all it takes is for a bird or squirrel to get a little too close and I'm sure, despite how large he is, we'd have a hell of a time trying to catch him!

Why I Nag My Husband . . .

. . . Alernatively titled,  "Why We Go Through So Damned Many Lint Rollers!"

 

 

I do the laundry, and place Gareth's clean clothes on his side of the bed.  Most of the time  sometimes occasionally Every once in a blue moon I'll put the folded clothing away in his chest of drawers, and hang up his trousers and shirts.   However, I always always always tell him to please go in and put his clothing away.  Now.  Right now.  Please and thank you!   Otherwise he's going to spend an extra 15 minutes in the morning rolling the lint roller all over this clothing  (some men have naturally hairy asses.  Gareth's ass can often be found with not only a few of his own hairs, but those belonging to our cats, as well!), which adds to the already chaotic before-work, before-school madness around here.

Now here's the odd thing.   You'll never ever find either of our cats making a nest out of dirty clothes, although Geronimo loves to hide in the laundry hampers that I bring upstairs, full of clean towels, warm clean towels, so that when I reach my hand deep into the basket to retrieve a towel to fold, it's usually met with an over-sized white paw assuming that I want to play tug-o-war with him and the towel.   I often lose that game.  And some blood.    Anyhow, I was saying, you'll never find our two fur beasts hanging out in the dirty clothes.   Nope, that's not good enough for them.  It's always freshly laundered clothing.   Is it any wonder my cats always smell April Fresh?  

I bring the clothing upstairs from the laundry room, dump it on the sofa, and before I can plop my big butt down to read a book catch up on what I've DVR'd fold it, there will be a huge, fluffy, brown and white cat, with innocent-looking big blue eyes, on top of all those clean clothes.

I've learned to move the cat off of the clothing and not pull the clothing out from under him because Geronimo takes that as a sure sign that I want to play, and before you know it, I'm tossing out torn panties, socks with brand new holes in them, and little girls tights with claw marks!

There have been times when Geronimo has even tried to beat me to the chase and has hopped into the dryer either right before I've put a load in, or taken a load out!  

I'm wondering if the folks at Snuggle have ever thought about letting that little bear hibernate for a while and employing the use of an April Fresh kitty cat?   Personally, I think Geronimo is a lot cuter!

I think my computer troubles are, for the most part, behind me. Knock on wood.  I'm so grateful for good friends like the wonderful webmistress and designer extraordinaire, Debbie, from Lagniappe Marketing, who sent me a CD with my OS on it, because she knew I couldn't find my boot disk, and I was then able to reformat and reinstall my OS. 

I'm working on another post where I debunk even more diet/weight loss quackery, including another gem from MckMama/Jennifer McKinney!     I'm going to try and have it up by Monday night/Tuesday morning.    It takes me a while to wade through the bullshit with a lot of these "supplements" and "diet aides" in order to find out what's legitimate and what is little more than someone blowing smoke up your bum!  Frequently it's not as cut and dry as simply stating that a product is bogus, because more often than not you have to sort through the initial claims and discount them, and then sort through all of the ingredients and figure out what's accurate and what's something you'd find in a pasture full of Angus cattle!   With this last venture into the world of those who'd like to feed off of your fat (it sounds ugly, and it is.  And you should be repulsed by how many people out there want to take advantage of your desire to live a healthy life and lose weight! But hey, these people quite literally line their wallets with your dreams of being thin!) I discovered some very serious and scary complaints about a certain "supplement" that claims to help you "Cheat" your way to weight loss!

Basket Case

Some people have baskets in their homes for useful purposes, like storage.   Others display pretty linens or even books in their baskets. 

Around here one has to be pretty quick in order to make use of the baskets we've collected over the years, otherwise one of the resident opportunists will take advantage of an empty basket whenever he or she can!

I'm working on my computer, in safe mode, and I'm really hoping this post actually gets published.  I was surprised that I was able to get the RAW image to upload to my computer, in it's current disabled state, but alas, I did.  I asked a friend to convert the image to JPG for me and then I was able to upload it out here.  I have problems using Chrome and TypePad at the same time and am crossing my fingers - well once I remove them from the keyboard, I will, that this posts. 

I do have a really long post that I'm working on for tomorrow morning.  I was hoping I'd be done with it tonight, but between trying to fact check everything and temper my anger, it's been a very drawn out process.  Those of you who are friends of mine on Facebook will know what I'm talking about.     I really dislike seeing people taken advantage of all in the name of trying to live a healthier life.  As much as I abhor any kind of dissension in the blogging community,  I'm no stranger to being a very vocal proponent when it comes to being your own best advocate, cheerleader and most importantly, your own best healer.   I refuse to sit by and watch people potentially be manipulated because their desire to grasp onto some form of hope, leads them to emotionally react, and then spend money based on someone offering them what isn't so much hope in pill/liquid form, but good ol' fashioned snake oil! 

More on all of that, tomorrow! 

Until then, take a look in the mirror.  Smile and say "I love you!"   That right there is the only key you need to taking your life back.   That's the only magic that exists in this world...the power you hold within yourself to take control of your life.   That power is YOU!
